Dwayne Johnson & Leonardo DiCaprio’s Martin Scorsese Movie Gets Exciting Update

Martin Scorsese‘s highly anticipated film project in Hawaii featuring Dwayne Johnson and Leonardo DiCaprio has received a significant update. The as-yet-unnamed movie is said to be inspired by the true story of Wilford “Nappy” Pulawa, a notorious mob boss who headed the largest criminal organization on the Hawaiian Islands.

What’s the latest Martin Scorsese movie update?

Disney is close to finalizing a deal for the rights of Scorsese’s upcoming crime drama movie, featuring a Hawaiian mafia boss as its main character, reminiscent of Robert De Niro’s Jimmy the Gent role from Goodfellas. Besides Johnson and DiCaprio, Emily Blunt – a previous Golden Globe winner – is also set to appear in this film.

Martin Scorsese is set to take charge of a film script penned by Nick Bilton. This upcoming production will be jointly produced by Scorsese himself, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette, and Rick Yorn. At this point, neither the title, start date, nor release date for the project has been announced.

In the role of an ambitious crime lord, I found myself embroiled in a fierce struggle during a tumultuous era on a tropical paradise. My objective was to seize control of the criminal underworld that plagued the Hawaiian islands, battling rival factions every step of the way. This was no ordinary conflict; it was as brutal and intense as the turf wars depicted in Scorsese’s masterpieces Goodfellas and The Departed.

The year was the 1960s or 70s, and I, a formidable and charismatic figure, rose through the ranks to construct the most powerful criminal empire that the islands had ever seen. My journey was marked by relentless warfare against mainland corporations and rival syndicates, all while fighting to protect my ancestral land. This gripping tale is inspired by a true story of a man who relentlessly pursued power to safeguard his homeland, sparking the final great American mob saga. Remarkably, this bloody conflict unfolded not in the typical urban jungle, but in paradise itself.
