Dungeons & Dragons Virtual Tabletop Game Revealed, Watch Trailer

Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast have unveiled a new announcement, titled “Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked“. This is an innovative virtual tabletop game that ties in with the widely acclaimed gaming series. A sneak peek at the gameplay has been shared through a fresh trailer.

What is Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked?

Demeo in conjunction with Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is an online tabletop game that employs the Demeo Action Roleplaying System, while incorporating the setting and mythology of D&D. It’s been crafted to be approachable for beginners yet engaging for experienced tabletop enthusiasts. Unlike traditional D&D games, Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked operates without a Dungeon Master, emphasizing strategy over roleplay, as it primarily focuses on combat scenarios and tactical decision-making.

Eugene Evans, SVP of Digital Strategy & Licensing at Wizards of the Coast, explained that using the Demeo system enables Resolution Games to offer a unique perspective on Dungeons & Dragons. This is achieved by focusing on quick turn-based battles and user-friendly mechanics. Hasbro’s strategy with Battlemarked aligns with this, as it involves utilizing our extensive library of top-tier intellectual properties to create digital games via licensing and internal studio production. By working with leading developers in the industry, we can bring new games and fresh experiences to various platforms for fans to enjoy.

Battlemarked broadens this appeal by integrating the classes, actions, and lore of D&D into its system, creating fresh adventures and an entirely novel experience specifically designed with D&D in mind.

Demeo, similar to Dungeons & Dragons, is planned for release on various gaming platforms and will offer cross-platform play among groups of up to four players. The specific platforms have not been disclosed as of now. At its debut, the game will offer two campaigns, with additional ones being added later. As of now, a release date has not been set.
