The role-playing game titled Dune: Awakening is situated within the cherished world designed by author Frank Herbert. Initially planned for launch in May, Funcom has disclosed that they are postponing the release to ensure a successful completion of the project.

Funcom has revealed that Dune: Awakening will now be released on June 10. Those who purchase either the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition can start playing five days early, beginning on June 5. The change in launch date is because of valuable feedback gathered during the Closed Beta tests.
Funcom announced that they are shifting the launch date of Dune: Awakening to June 10th, with an early access starting on June 5th. They explained this decision wasn’t made lightly, as they understand everyone is eager to start playing. However, these additional three weeks will provide them with the opportunity to make necessary improvements that will ensure a smoother gameplay experience from the very beginning.
Funcom asserts that “Dune: Awakening” is an immense challenge of a game. It offers multiplayer survival in expansive landscapes, and the team is pushing boundaries in both gameplay and technology unparalleled in this genre. They aim to execute flawlessly.
Despite Dune: Awakening experiencing a delay in its release, Funcom’s post-launch plans for the MMORPG remain consistent. In a recent video featuring Creative Director Joel Bylos, he clarified that they aim to grow the game by providing free updates filled with new content, features, and improvements. Furthermore, there will be optional DLC packs available, which can either be acquired through the Season Pass or purchased individually.
The release date for Dune: Awakening on June 10 is exclusive to the PC version at this time. The game will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but a launch date for these console versions has not been announced yet.
