Robert Pattinson is reportedly in early talks to join the cast of Dune 3.
I’m thrilled to share that I’m part of the excited community eagerly waiting for Denis Villeneuve’s work on the script for the next chapter in the epic Dune saga! As of now, there’s no confirmed release date for Dune 3, but we’re all looking forward to production kicking off this summer.
Per Deadline, Pattinson is now in early talks to join the cast of the movie.
As reported by Deadline, neither Robert Pattinson nor Legendary Pictures have officially received an offer for a role in the upcoming project. There’s no information yet on who Pattinson might portray if the deal materializes, but it’s anticipated that this could be a substantial role compared to some other new movie openings. Legendary Pictures declined to comment further on the matter.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Pattinson seems to be considering the part of the main antagonist in the upcoming movie. This character could potentially be Scytale, as depicted in Frank Herbert’s novels.
Robert Pattinson is recognized for his roles as Edward Cullen in the Twilight series and Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ film, The Batman. He recently appeared in Mickey 17, and has several upcoming projects such as Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey and Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love.
What else do we know about Dune 3?
According to Deadline, it’s anticipated that Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Zendaya will once again take on their characters Paul Atreides, Princess Irulan, and Chani for Dune 3. Additionally, many of the stars from the initial two films are expected to return. More recently, Jason Momoa has confirmed his return as Duncan Idaho in the upcoming film.
Dune 3 will likely be based on Frank Herbert’s book “Dune Messiah,” which was released in 1969. This is the second story from Herbert’s Dune series, as Villeneuve’s films, Dune and Dune: Part Two, were adaptations of the first novel.
Apart from the two films, HBO introduced a Dune: Prophecy TV series in November 2024. This series, which received a renewal for a second season, boasts an impressive cast including Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, and several others.
Dune and Dune: Part Two are both currently available to stream on Max.
