Duke Nukem Crashes into Warhammer40K: Epic Mod Swaps Titus!

3D Realms’ iconic FPS character Duke Nukem, who had previously retired, has made a comeback in a fresh mod for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. For a while, Captain Demetrian Titus of the war-ravaged world could take a breather, as the all-American Duke Nukem stepped in to show those Xenos aliens what it means to “Hail to the King” (a phrase that might be seen as blasphemous?).

Duke Nukem in Space Marine 2

Developed by modder yesimWillem, the latest Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 modification offers a straightforward character model swap for the engaging cooperative game. You can find it over at Nexus Mods; it’s an effortless method to bring a smile to your face even on those challenging workdays.

From the initial Deathwatch stages up until the grand climax known as Saber, Titus is nowhere to be found. In contrast, Duke steps into the spotlight, blasting Tyranids with bolters and decapitating the hordes of Chaos.

To set up the mod, gamers just need to move the local folder directly into “Space Marine 2/client_pc/root/”. Despite the game warning about “tainted data”, the mod usually starts the game without any issues.

Since Duke Nukem was rather poorly received following the release of Duke Nukem Forever, fans have been eagerly anticipating a new game. At this point, the rights to the character reside with Gearbox Software, a studio that is currently working on Borderlands 4. Duke has made appearances in Bulletstorm and had some remastered versions, but it’s high time for his return as the king of action games.

For now, this Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 mod will keep us enthusiasts content until a new release. Frankly, those Xenos creatures are merely another group of extraterrestrial pests who’ll learn the hard way not to mess with our vehicles.
