In collaboration with numerous well-known intellectual properties from film, television, and gaming, Dead By Daylight has announced its latest partnership: The Walking Dead. Behaviour Interactive has previewed the advantages for Rick Grimes and Michonne before their official release on July 29th. Although Dead By Daylight has enjoyed many successful crossovers, some licenses have been withdrawn due to contract terminations. Recently, Pinhead departed in April, and a rumor about Dead By Daylight suggests that another cherished license might be leaving the game despite upcoming content.
Dead By Daylight rumor claims Tomb Raider is leaving The Fog
On the Reddit forum dedicated to Tomb Raider, a message from Discord was circulated suggesting Lara Croft may be departing The Fog. The Discord snapshot alleges this information originates from a trustworthy source – more precisely, an individual who was impacted by job cuts at Behaviour Interactive. Since June 2024, Behaviour Interactive underwent layoffs affecting 95 employees, which seems to be the group being referred to in the claim.
Moving forward, the rumored disclosure suggests that “Lara Croft will depart from The Fog, as the agreement between Behaviour Interactive and Crystal Dynamics will not be extended.” It’s also stated that the partnership between Crystal Dynamics and Behaviour was not always harmonious, as indicated by the scant promotion Lara received compared to other licensed characters, and the limited additional content released post-launch.
At PAX EAST 2025, we got a sneak peek at two upcoming costumes for Lara Croft. The first, dubbed the “Unification Outfit,” is set to debut on August 5th and will be featured in TR12 as it’s being developed. As for the second costume, its details remain under wraps for now.
The leaked information suggests that “the two forthcoming ensembles are said to be the complete content,” but it’s implied that there were initially plans for additional cosmetics. For instance, a “winter sweater,” Lara’s “Angel of Darkness” outfit (also seen in Fortnite), the “Legend” outfit, and another ensemble linked to a Dead By Daylight event were all part of these original plans.
To sum up, the leak implies that the planned retirement of Lara Croft aligns with Crystal Dynamics’ recent trend of reducing outside partnerships. This is supported by the recent scrapping of the Tomb Raider Shadows of Truth tabletop RPG, which was indeed cancelled due to creative disagreements.
It’s been mentioned that Lara won’t definitely depart from The Fog before the end of 2025, although a declaration concerning her license is said to be imminent by then.
Tomb Raider possibly leaving Dead by Daylight? Thoughts?

I’ve stumbled upon a questionable piece of information that’s been circulating on LeaksDBD as well. According to moderators on the platform, the original poster (OP) promised to provide evidence supporting their claims, but the submitted proof fell short of credibility, appearing merely as a blurred screenshot of a group chat echoing the post’s content. The source of this information appears to be a Reddit user named Repulsivedot-4547, who has only one post and one comment so far, both related to the speculation surrounding Lara Croft potentially departing from Dead By Daylight.
As a dedicated fan, I must admit that I’m skeptical about this so-called leak since it didn’t originate from a trustworthy source like Wazzup. It appears rather implausible that Tomb Raider will depart from The Fog. While it’s unfortunate that the Tomb Raider tabletop RPG was axed, it’s entirely false to suggest that Crystal Dynamics are stepping away from external collaborations. In fact, just in 2024, Lara Croft has made a comeback in Fortnite, graced Pinball FX, and is set to make an appearance in World of Tanks.
It’s quite regrettable to consider that Lara might depart from The Fog in her role as Tomb Raider, given how influential and widely played this franchise is, with Lara being one of the most frequently chosen survivors. However, it’s not unthinkable for the contract to end without renewal; yet, based on these supposed leaks, it appears rather improbable.
