James Gunn has dismissed speculations about music sensation Dua Lipa joining the DC Universe for the upcoming ten years.
Lately, whispers have been spreading that Dua Lipa has agreed to a large, decade-long deal to portray the character of Zatana in the DC Universe. This speculation was initially posted by the well-known Instagram account DeuxMoi, but Gunn clarified the situation on Threads.
What did James Gunn say about Dua Lipa’s DCU rumor?
Responding to a Threads post, Gunn declared the news as untrue and even absurd, stating that the idea of a 10-year contract was nonsensical on its own.
In a recent statement on Threads, Gunn said: “Up until now, it wasn’t either of those things, but as of today, it’s also debunked. A ’10-year contract’? It seems they’re living in the 1930s. Gunn further explained the typical structure of contracts, informing a curious fan regarding David Corenswet’s agreement with the DCU, stating that generally, actors commit to several projects rather than a fixed term in years.
Despite Dua Lipa not appearing in the DC Universe (DCU), James Gunn recently disclosed that Benjamin Byron Davis will make an appearance as Rupert Thorne in the upcoming animated series titled Creature Commandos. The series is set to launch the DCU when it airs on December 5, 2024.
