What did Drake and Josh say about Quiet on Set?

Recently, the duo got back in touch for Peck’s podcast called Good Guys. They had a chat about their past relationship, current activities, and an upcoming documentary series called Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV in 2024. This five-part series will shed light on some troubling issues that occurred within children’s television production during the 1990s to 2000s.

In relation to the documentary, Bell described the intense discomfort he felt when Brian Peck, who had been arrested in 2003 for sexual assault against Bell in 2001, remained on set during an ongoing investigation.

During the filming of the initial episode, we were right in the midst of an investigation, yet no one had a clue because Brian hadn’t been taken into custody at that point, as Bell explained. The most disheartening aspect was that this menacing individual was in my secure environment, on set where Josh and I would often joke around, don masks, wigs, and makeup, bringing laughter to people. Each day I arrived, the monster was already there… wandering around the set.

In 2004, Josh Peck admitted to two charges without contest and was given a 16-month prison sentence, along with a requirement to register as a sex offender for life. During a discussion, Josh stated that at age 14, he was unaware of any incidents, but watching the documentary provided him with new insights.

In viewing the documentary when he was 38 years old, Josh Peck, as both a father and an adult, found himself learning about the struggles his family had faced. He expressed that he simply couldn’t fathom what they went through.

2004 saw Bell and Peck discussing the pressure that the trial put on Bell. As Bell explained, he was persistently anxious over the possibility that the trial might harm the reputation of their show. Additionally, he mentioned that he was getting scabs on his head due to the stress of the trial becoming public knowledge.

Bell expressed his concern saying, “If this falls apart, won’t Josh look at me and say, ‘Man, you snatched our dream away?’… Won’t we lose our show?” He added, “I was losing my hair. I mean, I had these big sores on my scalp.
