However, this was due to series producer Yu Miyake taking over Square Enix’s mobile division, causing quite a stir. Fans have been worried due to the lack of updates, but Horii reassured them that Dragon Quest 12 is still in development and hasn’t been put on hold or canceled by Square Enix. He also apologized for the silence.
In May 2021, during the celebration of its 35th anniversary, Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate was officially announced, along with other Dragon Quest media. However, since then, there hasn’t been much news, only a few updates here and there.
