On February 21, 2025, the movie “Dragon,” starring Pradeep Ranganathan, premiered in cinemas. This film, which has been a huge success, features a particular scam that appears to have its real-world equivalent emerging now.
As per an article by The Times of India, Rapa Sai Prashanth, a software engineer from Infosys, Telangana, is said to have carried out a fraud reminiscent of the one portrayed in the movie. This individual reportedly pretended to be someone else and utilized false credentials to obtain employment.
15 days after the scandal broke, Prashanth’s employment was ended because the company accused him of pretending to be someone else.
According to the latest findings, Prashanth was recently brought on board by the tech giant following a virtual job interview. On January 20, 2025, he received an employment offer, but during his regular tasks at work, his communication abilities were deemed insufficient.
During the online job interview, the applicant showed exceptional skills, leading to some doubts that triggered an in-house probe. Upon closer examination, the Human Resources team scrutinized images from the interview against his corporate identification photograph.
It’s been reported that another person went to the interview instead of Prashanth. After this was revealed, Prashanth has disappeared or gone into hiding.
Attending the film, “Dragon,” featuring Pradeep Ranganathan as the main character, follows the tale of an individual enduring a hard-knock life. With limited formal education and heavily depending on friends and his girlfriend, his world is shaken when she decides to leave him, marking a significant turning point in his existence.
This situation motivates him to find a quick route to achieve success by forging qualifications in order to land a lucrative position. Initially, he seems victorious, but trouble brews when his old college principal uncovers the deception and presents him with a tough choice: either finish his education or risk watching his life collapse around him.
The remainder of the film unfolds based on whether or not Pradeep Ranganathan manages to change his life’s course. In addition to Pradeep, the movie features Anupama Parameswaran and Kaydu Lohar in key female roles.
