Approximately half a year has passed since the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and it seems that one of its key figures may be preparing for a fresh start. Corinne Busche, Game Director on Dragon Age: The Veilguard, has apparently departed from BioWare following 18 years with Electronic Arts. At present, BioWare is said to be functioning normally and will carry on without Busche.
According to reports from Eurogamer, BioWare’s Casey Busche announced her departure from the company. Sources close to the situation, as well as Jeff Grubb, confirmed this news. After the confirmation, Busche herself stated that she left due to a tempting opportunity for a new RPG project elsewhere, which she couldn’t resist. The departure was amicable and Busche expressed that she achieved what she aimed to at BioWare with the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Busche’s full statement to Eurogamer can be read below:
Dragon Age: Veilguard was a highly ambitious journey, while it may not have struck every chord perfectly, it served as an impressive debut for BioWare in 2024. Given that Busche is departing from BioWare, we can anticipate her talent gracing other gaming endeavors soon.
