This film first premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, and it will now be released in theaters and on digital platforms by Lionsgate starting December 13.

What happens in the Young Werther clip?

The video features Booth’s Werther having a simple book reading date with Pill’s Charlotte while Werther reveals his insecurities as a writer to her. The cast also includes Iris Apatow (This is 40) as Sissy, Patrick J. Adams (Suits) as Albert, Amrit Kaur (The Sex Lives of College Girls) as Melanie, Jaouhar Ben Ayed (No Man’s Land) as Paul, and more.

1) The movie is crafted both on-screen and off by filmmaker José Avelino Gilles Corbett Lourenço, inspired by the 1774 tragic romance novel “The Sorrows of Young Werther” penned by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. Booth holds a dual role in this project, not only starring as a lead actor but also functioning as an executive producer, along with Jonathan Bross, Andy Wang, Dave Mepham, Matthew E. Chausse, Mason Novick, Joe Simpson, and Simon Williams. Production is overseen by Matt Code.
