Double iSmart Twitter Review: Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh’s combo is a HIT or MISS?

As a lifestyle expert with a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that Double iSmart seems to be a rollercoaster ride for Puri Jagannadh and his team. The movie appears to have left viewers with mixed feelings, which is quite common in the unpredictable world of cinema.

Five years have gone by since the release of iSmart Shankar, and filmmaker Puri Jagannadh finds himself at a crucial juncture once more. Following the significant disappointment with Liger, there is much anticipation surrounding Double iSmart. The question remains: has he succeeded this time? To gain insight into the audience’s perspective, let us examine eight tweets from viewers.

Double iSmart Twitter reviews

Regarding the initial part of the movie, a user remarked, “The first half was just okay. The scenes featuring Ali seemed awkward.”

In response to your post, I’d say the movie falls into the category of good-to-great, but with a few adjustments, it could truly shine. Specifically, I believe if some scenes featuring Puri were streamlined, the film would become an undeniable success. As for the creation of this character, I must commend you, Ram. Your portrayal was nothing short of remarkable, and I find myself captivated by your exceptional dancing skills. Indeed, I have become a devoted admirer of your talent.

Based on the initial feedback from just two reviews, it appears that many online viewers are expressing dissatisfaction with the character portrayed by Ali in the movie.

As a die-hard admirer, I cannot help but echo the sentiments of another spectator: “RAM, RAM, RAM! It’s as if he’s the only star this film could see. A one-man extravaganza! Ram’s peak performance, whether in dance, fights, acting, dialogue delivery, charisma, or his swagger, was nothing short of electrifying throughout the entire movie.”

Building upon the critical feedback, another individual commented, “The initial part was alright, but the second half was disappointing, with a weak script and lacking cohesion. If you’re primarily interested in Ram’s dancing, you might still want to watch it, though his dance scenes weren’t particularly well-executed either.”

Talking yet again about RAPO (Ram Pothineni), a user commented, “Hurting to see RAPO wasting his potential by choosing worse scripts.” He further added, “Songs are meh everything is trash. Kavya is gorgeous.”

In conclusion, the general response to the film was average, with a user commenting, “It’s alright, not extraordinary. The portrayal of Ali’s character is so poorly done it’s amusing. Mani Sharma’s background score, however, is commendable. I rate it 3 out of 5.”

Sanjay Dutt’s role seems to make a minimal impact in the film, according to a X user.

For those unfamiliar, after a stretch of lackluster performances at the box office for director Puri Jagannadh, the film Ismart Shankar served as a refreshing change in 2019. Despite not reaching the heights of his finest work, it showcased some remnants of the Puri Jagannadh known from Pokiri – the unique portrayal of the hero, the quirky dialogues, and the memorable tunes.

Under the direction of Puri Jagannadh, and jointly produced with Charmee Kaur under the banner Puri Connects, Double iSmart is a follow-up with spiritual ties to iSmart Shankar. This action-packed film features Ram Pothineni, Sanjay Dutt, Kavya Thapar, Bani J, Sayaji Shinde, Getup Srinu and Ali in the starring roles.
