Don't worry, more episodes of Cobra Kai season 6 are on the way

As a long-time fan of Cobra Kai, I must confess that the wait for season 6 has felt like an eternity. Every year, we’ve grown accustomed to getting new installments of this beloved dramedy series on Netflix. However, due to production delays caused by a delayed renewal and writers/actors strikes, the final season is now being released in parts.

Fans of “Cobra Kai” were used to receiving new seasons annually from Netflix, making the long-awaited arrival of season 6 even more exciting. However, due to a late renewal and labor disputes among writers and actors, production for the final season took longer than expected. Now, we’re finally getting a glimpse of season 6’s beginning. I use “beginning” instead of “the whole season,” as “Cobra Kai” is back but not all episodes of season 6 have been released yet.

Over the past few years, Netflix has experimented with various release strategies, even dividing some seasons into multiple installments, making fans wait weeks or even months for the remaining episodes. This trend is evident in popular series like “Stranger Things,” “You,” “Virgin River,” and most notably, “Cobra Kai.” In fact, Netflix is taking this approach further with the final season of “Cobra Kai.” Currently, the initial five episodes of season 6 are available on Netflix. However, there’s no need to worry as additional episodes are on the way.

Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 release date

From my gaming perspective, I’ve binge-watched the first five thrilling episodes of Cobra Kai season 6 on Netflix, which came out on July 18. I can hardly wait for more action as parts 2 and 3 are upcoming! Part 2, consisting of additional episodes, is scheduled to drop on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. And get this – part 3, dubbed “The Finale Event,” is predicted to release in the year 2025, though we don’t have an exact date just yet. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!

As a long-time fan of the show, I’m always eager to learn more about upcoming seasons. Based on the information provided, it seems that Netflix has yet to reveal the exact number of episodes for parts 2 and 3 of the upcoming season. The term “The Finale Event” suggests that there might be one final, climactic episode, but it could also mean a multiple-episode finale.

Despite my preference being against divided season rollouts, I must admit that the initial five episodes of “Cobra Kai” season 6 effectively lay the groundwork for what’s coming next.

WARNING: Spoilers for Cobra Kai season 6 part 1 are ahead.

Season 6 part 1 recap

In the sixth season’s first part, Johnny and Daniel combined their dojos. However, I wouldn’t exactly call Miyagi-Do flourishing at the moment. As they prepare for the Sekai Taikai, an international karate competition, Daniel grapples with a troubling revelation about Mr. Miyagi. Simultaneously, Johnny comes to terms with his responsibilities as a father-to-be and takes up a job at Daniel’s car dealership. The teenagers are pondering their college applications, while Tory is delighted to learn that her mother’s health condition has shown signs of improvement.

In the current scenario, despite encountering obstacles throughout, the overall trend appears to be positive for most characters in “Cobra Kai” season 6 part 1. However, this optimistic outlook is disrupted by an unfortunate turn of events. Regrettably, Tory’s mother succumbs to a fatal pulmonary embolism. Following her loss, Tory withdraws into herself and upon returning to the dojo, she exhibits increased aggression during competitions. Unaware of this tragedy, Amanda gets called away from the dojo by the hospital. Upon learning about Tory’s grief, she interrupts their fight and Tory angrily departs, revealing her mother’s demise to those present.

Miyagi-Do carries on after Tory’s departure, appointing Sam as the female captain and Robby as the male captain. Alongside them, Miguel, Devon, Demetri, and Hawk are invited to travel to Barcelona, Spain, for the Sekai Taikai. The first part of season 6 concludes with a suspenseful ending: Miyagi-Do discovers that Kreese has managed to break out of prison. What’s more, he’s prepared his new students for his dojo and they will also be participating in the Sekai Taikai. Just before the credits start playing, there is another shocking revelation: Tory has joined forces with Kreese and will compete for Cobra Kai at the tournament.

As a dedicated gamer following Miyagi-Do’s journey, I can’t help but be thrilled by this game-changing revelation. In November, we’ll finally witness the conclusion of the Sekai Taikai tournament in season 6 part 2. And let me tell you, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The Finale Event promises an epic experience unlike anything we’ve seen before – it is, after all, the last hurrah for this series!

You can stream the first five episodes of Cobra Kai season 6 right now on Netflix.
