Don’t Expect Kingpin in Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man 4

After Marvel revealed the cast for their movie “Avengers: Doomsday,” there have been many rumors about actors who didn’t make the initial cut, one of them being Vincent D’Onofrio’s character, the Kingpin. However, Full Metal Jacket star Vincent D’Onofrio has shared some disappointing news about his potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It appears that a role for Wilson Fisk in future MCU projects such as Avengers 5 and/or Spider-Man 4 is looking less likely at this stage.

Daredevil’s Vincent D’Onofrio on Why Kingpin Won’t Be in Avengers: Doomsday

In a recent chat on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, I, as a fan, was thrilled to hear Vincent D’Onofrio discussing the potential of Kingpin gracing the big screen again, either in Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He emphasized that bringing this character to life on the silver screen could be challenging due to Marvel’s ongoing legal complexities with the rights to Kingpin.

D’Onofrio clarified that, unfortunately, his character Wilson Fisk isn’t suitable for movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this time. He explained that due to ownership and related complications, he can only be used in television series, not films or standalone movies.

In a recent statement, the actor clarified that he is not giving any updates about his potential roles in Avengers: Doomsday or Spider-Man 4 at the moment. Instead, he emphasized that he’s eagerly awaiting the opportunity to reprise his role as Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Although the second season of the popular Disney+ series has been confirmed, no official release date has been announced yet.
