Donald Trump Photoshopped on Superman Poster by Official White House Account

The White House has added more fire to the debate about their “immigrant” remarks by publishing an altered Superman poster online.

This past week, a remark by James Gunn gained significant attention when he, the writer and director of the new DCU movie, stated that “the film represents America. It’s about an immigrant who enriched the nation, but for me, it chiefly conveys that fundamental human compassion is a virtue we should cherish, and something we seem to have forgotten.

When questioned about whether he believed the movie would be perceived differently in conservative versus liberal areas, Gunn responded, “Yes, it’s shown differently. However, it emphasizes human compassion, and there will inevitably be individuals who lack empathy and perceive it as offensive simply because it promotes kindness. But I don’t care about them.

Due to this, Fox News labeled the film as “Superwoke,” and moreover, Dean Cain, who played Superman in Lois & Clark, has recently expressed his disagreement with the movie’s immigration-related topics.

What did the White House say about the photoshopped Superman poster?

The White House Twitter handle recently posted an edited version of the film’s poster swapping David Corenswet with Donald Trump. This tweet also features a modified phrase, “truth, justice, and the American way,” which is changed to “truth, justice, and the human way” in Gunn’s movie.

Earlier this week, Gunn shared with Variety that he has no words for those spreading negativity regarding Superman. He further mentioned that this film embodies kindness, a quality that everyone can identify with.

James’ brother, Sean Gunn (depicting Maxwell Lord in the DCU), made a statement: “Indeed, Superman is an immigrant, and indeed, those we uphold in this nation are immigrants. If you find issue with that, then perhaps you aren’t embodying American values. Those who oppose immigrants go against the spirit of America.
