Dominic Sessa Will Play Anthony Bourdain in Tony Biopic

As a seasoned gamer and film enthusiast with a soft spot for both coming-of-age stories and culinary adventures, I must say, I’m genuinely thrilled about Dominic Sessa taking on the role of Anthony Bourdain in the upcoming biopic, Tony. Having binge-watched No Reservations and Parts Unknown during countless late-night gaming sessions, I can only imagine how captivating it would be to see Sessa bring the larger-than-life personality of Bourdain to life on the big screen.

In discussions, emerging actor Dominic Sessa from The Holdovers series is considering portraying the role of renowned chef Anthony Bourdain in the biographical film titled Tony.

Renowned culinary expert and globe-trotting filmmaker Anthony Bourdain, best recognized for his work on No Reservations and Parts Unknown (until his tragic passing in 2018), is soon to be the subject of a biographical movie. The specific aspects of Bourdain’s life that the biopic will focus on remain undisclosed at this time.

As a gamer, I’m hyped for the upcoming biopic about Anthony Bourdain’s life – the second one we’ll get a peek at. The 2021 documentary Roadrunner was a game-changer, earning high praises from critics. But, it sparked some debate when it was disclosed that an AI was employed to fabricate certain quotes, using Bourdain’s voice.

The biopic is set to be produced by Star Thrower Entertainment, led by Trevor and Tim White, alongside A24. It’s said that Matt Johnson, known for his work in The Dirties and Blackberry, is in negotiations to direct the movie. Lou Howe and Todd Bartels have penned the screenplay. The production team will include A24, Trevor White, Tim White, Matt Johnson, and Matthew Miller. Emily Rose will serve as an executive producer.

The Holdovers Breakout to star in Anthony Bourdain biopic

Dominic Sessa gained popularity for his performance in Alexander Payne’s acclaimed, Oscar-winning coming-of-age film titled “The Holdovers.” In this production, Sessa portrayed one of several students at a New England boarding school, overseen by a gruff mentor character played by Paul Giamatti.

In the upcoming sequel, Now You See Me 3, Sessa is set to join the cast and contribute to the magic-infused heist series as one of several fresh faces. Other projects on his schedule include the holiday movie Oh. What. Fun and the film Tow, where he will appear alongside Rose Byrne and Octavia Spencer, under the direction of Stephanie Laing.

Star Thrower Productions is responsible for creating films like The Post, King Richard, No One Comes to Save You, Ingrid Goes West, and Wind River.
