As a seasoned gamer who has navigated the digital world from the early days of Pac-Man to the latest virtual reality experiences, I must admit that MiSide piques my curiosity. Having played my fair share of social life simulations and horror games, I’m intrigued by the unique blend these two genres offer in MiSide.
On December 11, the joint project between developer Aihasto and publisher IndieArk – a blend of mobile simulation and horror elements – is scheduled to launch on PC through live streaming.
Meet Mita – and run!
In the game MiSide, you’ll encounter a character named Mita, who appears adorable like an anime figure. You’ll assist her with tasks, prepare meals for her, and even buy her presents – much like in many life simulation games. However, as the game progresses and your relationship with Mita deepens, you’ll come to understand that beneath her charming exterior lies a character who is extremely jealous and possessive – in a chilling manner.
In the game, there’s a shift in both the mood and visual aesthetic that resembles the eerie sensation you got from playing Doki Doki Literature Club, as you frantically dodge a maniacal Mita wielding a chainsaw and doors that suddenly open.
A creepy story with even creepier characters
MiSide showcases a unique artistic flair, with its vibrant, almost whimsical anime aesthetics starkly contrasting the ominous and eerie journeys of its primary figures.
As a captivated player, I found myself immersed in a narrative brimming with shocking twists and palpable mental strain. With each chapter unfolding, the suspense deepened, and the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack left me on edge every second.
Encounter numerous peculiar individuals who could potentially aid, frighten, or confuse you; however, none of them can be fully trusted. You may only realize this when Mita sneaks up on you once more.
The PC version of the game will be released through Steam on December 11th, priced at $14.99, according to announcements made by both publisher IndieArk and developer Aihasto.
What do you think of MiSide? Are you a fan of games that surprise you with horror?
