In a potential turn of events, CM Punk, who was highly favored to win the Men’s Royal Rumble in 2025, stands another opportunity to potentially headline WWE WrestleMania 41. During the recent episode of WWE RAW, a qualifying bout for the Men’s Elimination Chamber was held.
In the main event of RAW, Sami Zayn was bested by CM Punk, ensuring his spot in the Men’s Elimination Chamber bout. Presently, Punk is fixated on his ambition to star in WrestleMania’s headliner. Lately, Punk has expressed some opinions regarding WWE sensation Dominik Mysterio.
Ever since Dominik Mysterio switched sides and went heel in 2022, my gaming life has been nothing but thrilling! The crowd’s reactions are always intense – they boo him so loud during his promos that it’s hard to make out what he’s saying sometimes. I recently caught up with CM Punk who’s been going toe-to-toe with “Dirty Dom” since coming back to WWE, and he shared his thoughts on whether he ever feels bad for this rising star constantly being met with a chorus of boos.
CM Punk weighs in on Dominik Mysterio’s heat from WWE fans
In a recent chat with the Good Guy / Bad Guy podcast, ex-WWE Champion CM Punk expressed his views on fans jeering Dominik Mysterio. When inquired about feeling sympathetic towards Mysterio, Punk was taken aback, remarking that he was surprised fans hadn’t pelted him with rotten produce or paper rolls instead.
He expressed, “I find it astonishing, although I don’t endorse such actions, that people aren’t pelting him with rotten fruit or at least toilet paper. This individual is terrible, and it seems like his poor performance is deliberate. His mustache, haircut, and behavior are all conscious decisions. He could educate himself, improve as a wrestler, master the ropes. But he’s dreadful, and if it’s because of his father [Rey Mysterio], he’s just as bad. As the saying goes, ‘an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.’ In essence, everything about this kid reeks.
It’s not unusual that Punk’s remarks were aimed at Dominik Mysterio, given their history of exchanges. Notably, they had a match against each other in December 2023, which was a significant return for Punk to the WWE ring since then.
