Predictions for the opening weekend box office of the upcoming live-action version of “Snow White” suggest it may have a lower debut compared to a past Disney live-action release, according to many industry experts.
What is Snow White’s box office opening estimated to be?
Based on a recent report from Deadline, initial ticket sales for Snow White have currently reached approximately $5 million. This places it slightly behind Kung Fu Panda 4 ($57.9 million) but ahead of the live-action Dumbo remake ($45.99 million) in terms of pre-sale figures.
Initially, the movie seems to be outperforming films such as Dumbo and Deadline’s report hints at concerns that its opening might resemble these earlier figures. Nevertheless, the report suggests that the film is projected to debut with earnings between $45-50 million domestically, and a staggering $55 million internationally. Such numbers could potentially set the stage for a successful run at the box office.
Snow White will be released in theaters on March 21, 2025.
In this revamped version of Snow White, Rachel Zegler plays Snow White, with Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot portraying other key characters. Andrew Burnap is cast as Jonathan, while Martin Klebba takes on the role of Grumpy. The project, helmed by director Marc Webb, is a collaboration between Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson in terms of screenplay. This reimagining aims to extend the original tale’s narrative and musical elements. Notably, the team behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, are working on composing new tunes for this adaptation.
The synopsis states that Disney’s Snow White is a revitalized live-action musical version of the 1937 film. This enchanting music-filled journey retraces the heartwarming tale with cherished characters such as Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.
