The lineup for Disney Plus between June 16th and June 22nd, 2025, features the debut of Underdogs (Season 1), SALLY, and Frozen: The Stage Musical.
Beginning June 16th, Disney Plus will debut Underdogs (Season 1), a groundbreaking reality series from National Geographic. Known for his exceptional acting skills, Ryan Reynolds will be lending his voice as the show’s narrator. This captivating series delves into the lesser-known and mysterious inhabitants of forests, veering away from the traditional focus on big cats like lions or tigers, or popular creatures such as penguins. Instead, it highlights peculiar frogs and shrimps, monkeys with unusual noses, dancing turkeys, chameleon-like frogs, glowing insects, and numerous other fascinating species. Although some of the animal behaviors might appear off-putting, they are guaranteed to leave viewers spellbound.
In addition to appearing on the wildlife show, Reynolds is also one of its executive producers, working through his production company, Maximum Effort. The famous rock group Green Day created the main theme, and Henry Gregson-Williams handled the background music.
Furthermore, Disney Plus will feature the National Geographic documentary titled SALLY, helmed by acclaimed director Cristina Costantini. This captivating film chronicles the life of Sally Ride, America’s first woman astronaut in space, who tragically passed away. Her groundbreaking achievements significantly impacted both science and feminism, but her journey was met with skepticism from the public due to her gender. Furthermore, there was a hidden aspect to Sally’s strong persona: she had a secret relationship. Sally’s partner, Tam O’Shaughnessy, provides insights into this thrilling ride of love and professional balance in Sally’s life.
Additionally, “Frozen: The Broadway Musical” debuts on a streaming service. This musical focuses on the sibling relationships between princesses Elsa and Anna. Elsa, who possesses the ability to turn people and things into ice, struggles to master her power and ultimately abandons the kingdom after inheriting it. Unfortunately, she accidentally freezes the entire realm. But fear not, as Anna steps in to resolve the situation.
