What happens in the Disfluency trailer?

In this movie, we meet Lilia Barer’s character Jen, who returns to her childhood home following her last college class failure. The movie “Disfluency” is helmed by director Anna Baumgarten. Jane renews an old bond with her neighbor Amber, a solitary mother to a challenging toddler. Leveraging her studies in linguistics, she shares her knowledge – particularly American Sign Language – to aid Amber in communicating with her son. However, despite her attempts, Jane finds it hard to conceal the root issue that disrupted her academics earlier. Struggling with feelings of inadequacy and battling the effects of PTSD, Jane’s inner turmoil eventually surfaces. With the help of those close to her, Jane embarks on a lifelong journey of healing following a sexual assault.
