The film, titled “American Agitators,” is the brainchild of director and producer Raymond Tells. This groundbreaking movie will make its debut on the global stage at the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival, taking place in San Jose, California, on March 16th at 6:45 p.m., inside the grand California Theater.

The American Agitators documentary highlights how Fred Ross Sr., over several decades, rallied communities to confront segregation, advocate for voting rights, and bolster labor movements. It follows contemporary organizers who carry on Ross’s legacy, addressing modern-day challenges like fair compensation, workers’ rights, and systemic injustice.
John Heffernan and Margo Feinberg are the executive producers of American Agitators, with Luis Valdez providing the narration for the movie. Significant figures showcased in this documentary include Dolores Huerta, Cesar Chavez, Fred Ross Jr., Nancy Pelosi, Robert F. Kennedy Sr., Jessica Govea, Mario Yedidia, Keshia Brow, Tara Thompson, Gustavo Aguirre Jr., Cesar Aguirre, Francisco Gonzalez, Anabel Marquez, Kampala Taiz Rancifer, Catherine Cortez Masto, D. Taylor, and Taiwanna Denise Milligan.
