“I, Catherine Ravenscroft, a renowned journalist known for exposing the wrongdoings of others, was taken aback when I received an anonymous novel revealing my own hidden secrets. I was struck by how she described her character’s inner turmoil. She confessed, “I unconsciously dreaded that my anger might spin out of control, so I shied away from confrontations, refrained from asserting myself, and tried to keep my cool around people, all for fear of my anger erupting.” Catherine seemed to me as a woman who was misunderstood, appearing self-contained or stoic on the outside, but in reality, she struggled to acknowledge her own feelings.
