Director Nelson Dilipkumar to charge a whopping Rs 60 crores as remuneration for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2?

As a seasoned cinephile who has been following Tamil cinema for decades, I must admit that the news of Nelson Dilipkumar charging Rs 60 crores for his upcoming movie with Rajinikanth, if true, is nothing short of astounding! While I’ve seen superstars command massive fees, this figure seems to be reaching the realm of the extraordinary.

It appears that superstar Rajinikanth and filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar might collaborate once more, and there’s talk that the director has raised his fee significantly. According to News18, it is estimated that the director will demand an impressive 60 crores for their upcoming project together.

However, the reports of his remuneration are still speculative with an official confirmation about the same yet to be made. If it does turn out to be true, then it would surely be a huge hike for the director.

In a chat with Cineulagam, comedian Yogi Babu shared some insights about Jailer 2. He mentioned that the script for the movie is being penned by director Nelson, and hinted at something unique in store for his character, much like what was seen in the initial installment.

It’s worth noting that aside from Rajinikanth, it’s anticipated that Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, and another Bollywood actor may reprise their cameo roles in the film Jailer. At this point, these are merely speculations.

In 2023, the action-comedy film titled “Jailer” was unveiled, helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar featuring Rajinikanth as the main character. The storyline revolves around a retired prison guard, affectionately called “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian, who peacefully coexists with his family and police officer son.

In a sequence of unfortunate incidents, the son mysteriously disappears, believed to have perished. This tragedy prompts the former prison guard to embark on a quest for vengeance, seeking justice for his deceased child. The narrative then unfolds around this mission, which surprisingly transforms into a daring heist.

In addition to the leading star, the film boasted a talented group of actors such as Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu, and others who played significant roles. The movie was praised by critics and went on to be a box office hit.
