As a die-hard fan of Telugu cinema, I have to say that the recent exchange between Director Ajay Bhupathi and Arshad Warsi has been quite a spectacle! Growing up in Hyderabad, I’ve seen the rise of directors like Ajay Bhupathi who are not just making films but creating a new wave in Telugu cinema.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my feelings about Director Ajay Bhupathi’s passionate defense of Prabhas. Known for masterpieces like RX 100 and Mangalavaaram, he recently took a stand against Arshad Warsi’s comments regarding the Rebel Star. In a heartfelt post on X (previously Twitter), Ajay exclaimed, “Prabhas is not just an actor; he’s the man who has given it all and aims to bring Indian Cinema to global audiences, a source of immense national pride.”
In a continuation of his critique, the filmmaker observed a hint of envy in Warsi’s gaze towards Prabhas and Kalki. This could possibly stem from the fact that, much like Warsi, they are receiving considerable attention that he once did but no longer does.
The director added, “There is a boundary and a proper method for sharing our views… It appears you are referring to him, as suggested in your statement.”

For those who aren’t familiar, Arshad Warsi recently appeared on a podcast named “Unfiltered with Samdish” hosted by Samdish Bhatia. During the show, the actor was asked about any films he hadn’t enjoyed, and in response, the Munna Bhai MBBS star shared his thoughts.
Speaking highly of Amitabh Bachchan’s performance as Ashwatthama, the actor voiced his disappointment with Prabhas’ portrayal. He expressed, “I feel quite disheartened, Prabhas. Why was it like a comedy act? Why? I yearn for Mad Max. I yearn for Mel Gibson. What is this transformation you’ve created? I just can’t fathom why they would choose to do such things.”
The remarks made by Warsi against the Darling actor have surely earned him quite the flak with now director Ajay Bhupathi also joining in.
The movie titled “Kalki 2898 AD,” featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, is a science fiction film set in the future. This movie, helmed by Nag Ashwin, draws inspiration from ancient Hindu epics such as the Mahabharata and the prophecy of Lord Vishnu’s tenth incarnation, Kalki.
In addition to its main stars, this film showcases a talented ensemble of actors such as Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, Shobhana, Saswata Chatterjee, along with others in pivotal roles. Notably, Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salmaan make brief appearances in the movie.
