As someone who has been following these talented actors since their debut, I must say that it would have been a treat to witness Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil sharing the screen again in Gangs of Bandadukka. The idea of a multi-starrer gangster drama based on real-life characters, directed by Aneesh Anwar, sounded incredibly promising. I can only imagine how captivating it would have been to watch them bring their unique acting styles to this narrative-driven tale filled with action.

Yes, according to a report by On A Friday, the creators have enlisted renowned director Aneesh Anwar for a production titled Gangs of Bandadukka. They are contemplating actors Dq and FaFaa for the main roles, as well as five other prominent figures, making it a multi-star project.

This director’s notable project, built around authentic characters from real life, was intended to traverse multiple generations. The film’s storyline, as reported, unfolds from 1979 to 2019. During the project development, the director and screenwriter Nizam Ravuthar made a trip to a village in Bandadukka for research purposes.

It’s been said that the movie features a storyline primarily focused on narrative, and it’s filled with plenty of action too. Following the achievement of Angamaly Diaries, its producers chose to take up this venture. This fact was also verified by actor-producer Vijay Babu during an interview with Cinema Express. Moreover, the producer himself declared that the film’s script is among the top action screenplays he has ever read.

The creators initially contemplated pushing forward with the production using novice actors to prevent fan disagreements. However, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly postponed the project, ultimately leading to its cancellation. Although the idea has been abandoned, it would have been a fantastic pairing if DQ and Fahadh appeared together again on screen since their last collaboration in Bangalore Days.

Regarding the upcoming projects of our actors, Dulquer Salmaan will appear next in the film titled Lucky Baskhar. This movie, helmed by Venky Atluri, is expected to be a captivating blend of drama and suspense, taking us back to the 1980s. The story revolves around a banker who experiences an enigmatic rise to wealth.

In this movie, Meenakshi Chaudhary takes center stage, while Sai Kumar, Hyper Aadi, Ayesha Khan, and Surya Sreenivas have significant roles. Meanwhile, Fahadh Faasil is set to appear in crucial parts of upcoming films such as Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan and Pushpa 2: The Rule featuring Allu Arjun.
