Did the Outlander Season 7B opening credits confirm Jane's appearance?

As a seasoned Outlander fan who’s been traversing time with Claire and Jamie since the first book was published, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension as we approach Season 7B. The opening credits hint at new storylines, and one that particularly catches my eye is that of young William, our beloved Bree’s father.

In simpler terms, there are more stories from the Outlander books that have yet to be adapted, and the opening credits for Season 7B suggest that we’ll see some of these tales unfold.

Caution: We’re diving into spoilers from Written in My Own Heart’s Blood in this post.

In the narrative, not every plot point revolves around Claire and Jamie. The cast of characters has expanded, and among them is William, who will soon be central to significant events. This unfolds when Jamie returns from Scotland, culminating in his encounter with a young woman, incidentally a prostitute.

Will William meet Jane in Outlander Season 7B?

In a turn of events, William encounters Jane, who happens to be a prostitute but is doing her best to support herself and her sibling, Fanny. As he establishes a bond with this young lady, it’s significant to note that this occurs at a time when he acknowledges he can’t win the affection of another girl and his life begins to unravel. Jane exhibits compassion and proves to be a sympathetic listener.

Having had a glimpse into this young woman’s life, I can’t help but be moved by her resilience and determination. Raised as an orphan with her sister, she has faced hardships that many of us could scarcely imagine. Yet, she has persevered through it all, showing an indomitable spirit that is truly inspiring.

In the opening credits of Outlander Season 7B, there’s a scene featuring a man in a British Army uniform and a woman holding his hand. However, this isn’t Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall. Instead, we see Jamie in a blue uniform during Season 7B as he returns to America, while Young Ian is dressed differently and is seen fighting for the Continental Army.

Who do we see in this instance? It’s between Lord John Grey and William. Given that William is often seen in uniform throughout the show, I tend to lean towards him as the likely choice.

In simpler terms, it’s unlikely that Amaranthus will appear in the narrative until Outlander Season 8. This implies that the woman’s hand in Jane might be relevant. I’m eager to witness how this plot unfolds as it contributes to William’s character development. Moreover, if true, it would mean another child for Claire and Jamie to care for.

Outlander Season 7B premieres on Friday, Nov. 22.
