Attention is focused intensely on Thalapathy Vijay as he readies for his final cinematic venture. Currently, this highly successful actor is engrossed in filming Jana Nayagan. Following its release, Vijay plans to transition fully into politics as a vocation. However, the latest news regarding his upcoming movie has sparked widespread interest in the media.
In a conversation with Telugu One, filmmaker Gopichand Malineni of Jaat fame expressed that Vijay was under pressure to work exclusively with a Tamil director for his last project. He reminisced about presenting a script to the actor, who had shown interest and even agreed to make an announcement, but ultimately chose another director instead.
Nonetheless, the plan didn’t come to fruition, as Gopinath clarified that he agreed to work on his final project with a Tamil director solely due to the influence of people close to Thalapathy Vijay urging him to do so.
In his own explanation, he was prepared to make the announcement, but since this project would be his final movie prior to joining politics, his advisors urged him to choose a Tamil director over a Telugu one.
To be honest, it wasn’t the first instance where a director other than H. Vinoth had come knocking on Vijay sir’s door with a script for his latest movie. In fact, I remember Karthik Subbaraj himself mentioning that he too had put forth an offer for the talented actor. It just goes to show how much demand there is for Vijay sir in the film industry!
During an interview with Galatta, the Retro director disclosed that his initial script for Vijay didn’t quite hit the mark. By the time he revised it and presented a new version, actor H. Vinoth had already selected another project to work on.
Regarding Jana Nayagan, the film production is taking place in Kodaikanal right now, with Vijay on set. Many videos and sneak peeks of the popular star have been circulating online, showing him interacting with fans who are swarming his car, while also showcasing a slender physique and fresh appearance.
In addition to Thalapathy Vijay, the actors Jana Nayagan (Pooja Hegde) and Bobby Deol are also in this upcoming movie. It’s set to hit the screens on January 9, 2026.
