As a long-time fan of George R.R. Martin’s intricate world of Westeros, I have grown accustomed to the intricacies and complexities that come with each new storyline in both “Game of Thrones” and now “House of the Dragon.” The recent episode of “House of the Dragon,” which saw Alicent and Helaena fleeing from the riots in King’s Landing, left me pondering a potential connection between this event and a future character we know all too well – The Shepherd.
During the chaos of the recent episode of “House of the Dragon,” Alicent and Helaena rushed to escape King’s Landing. Suddenly, a man seized Alicent. However, before she could object, the Kingsguard swiftly amputated the man’s arm without her consent.
The Kingsguard acted instinctively to shield the queens from harm, as there were threats against their safety. Yet, Alicent understood that hurting commoners would lead to the downfall of the Green faction. Already, Rhaenyra had garnered the people’s favor.
However, the Kingsguard made a huge mistake, and it could lead to trouble for everyone very soon.
Was The Shepherd the injured man in House of the Dragon?
The Shepherd bears many similarities to the Sparrow character from “Game of Thrones.” He effectively rouses the commoners against the monarchs residing in the Red Keep. Driven by deep devotion to The Seven, this figure garners a significant following.
Instead of “However, The Shepherd doesn’t actually become a problem until Rhaenyra’s reign. It’s because of him that the smallfolk storm the Dragonpit and kill multiple dragons,” you could try:
Certainly, there’s a backstory to events such as these. Witnessing that backstory from an outside perspective could make the “House of the Dragon” moment between Alicent significant. After all, what reason would The Shepherd have to amass supporters and stir up animosity towards both the Greens and the Blacks? It’s all about power plays at this point.
Based on my extensive experience as an avid reader and a critical thinker, I’ve come across numerous works of literature that challenge conventional storytelling. Among these unconventional gems is a fascinating tale called “The Shepherd,” which I recently had the pleasure of reading.
Based on my own experiences and observations, it’s possible that this man was merely a bystander caught up in the chaos of the riot. But given the intrigue and suspense that the show “House of the Dragon” is known for, I can’t help but feel that there might be more to his story. I’ve seen how the creators have a knack for introducing unexpected twists and revealing hidden identities. So while it may seem far-fetched now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this man will be unveiled as The Shepherd in season 3. After all, isn’t it the nature of intriguing stories to keep us guessing?
