Fahadh Faasil is preparing for the premiere of his upcoming movie “Maareesan,” which features Vadivelu as a co-star. As the film is set to debut on July 25, 2025, the actor from “Aavesham” has been reminiscing about rejoining forces with his “Maamannan” collaborator and discussing whether the production was initially planned for Malayalam.
Did Fahadh Faasil initially plan to make Maaresan in Malayalam?
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Fahadh Faasil shared, “Initially, Maareesan was conceived as a Malayalam film. At the time, I was working on a Malayalam project and it was then that I came across this opportunity. During the casting process, I felt we needed an actor like Vadivelu sir for this particular role.
Following these conversations, the Tamil producer approached us. He expressed his interest since he is already a Tamil producer himself, and inquired why we weren’t producing this film in Tamil. However, I made it clear that if we were to make it in Tamil, it would have to be with Vadivelu sir as part of the cast, according to my condition, Fahadh stated.
