Gautham Vasudev Menon’s long-awaited spy thriller, Dhruva Natchathiram starring Chiyaan Vikram, has finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel after years of delays since its initial release in August 2017. The director recently confirmed that the film is set to grace movie screens within a few months as major obstacles have now been successfully navigated.

There’s increasing buzz among movie enthusiasts, as per industry tipster Valai Pechu’s latest report, suggesting that the upcoming film featuring Chiyaan Vikram will hit the big screens on May 1, 2025.

For the time being, these are just unconfirmed reports, since neither the creators nor the director have given any official verification yet.

To put it simply, Dhruva Natchathiram was first planned with Suriya as the main actor. But due to creative disagreements, the director had to postpone the project. Later in 2015, Chiyaan Vikram stepped into the lead role, and the movie went ahead.

In early 2025, filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon discussed his persistent solo struggle to bring the movie “Dhruva Natchathiram” to the screens in an interview with YouTube personality Madan Gowri.

The director underscored his determination to carry on, fueled by the constant hum of excitement and eagerness for the movie’s premiere in cinemas.

He discussed the enormous stress he suffered on his own during the movie, mentioning that very few individuals in the field were willing to lend a hand or provide assistance when Dhruva Natchathiram encountered difficulties at its release.

In simpler terms, he expressed that during the challenges with Dhruva Natchathiram’s release, few from the industry reached out to inquire about the situation. Instead, it seemed like everyone was indifferent. He also mentioned that success doesn’t necessarily bring genuine happiness or camaraderie within the industry.
