Dhruva Natchathiram: Chiyaan Vikram-Gautham Vasudev Menon film to hit theaters in THIS month, Harris Jayaraj confirms

The movie titled “Dhruva Natchathiram” is well-known among movie enthusiasts nationwide. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, this action-spy flick was first announced in 2013 but unfortunately didn’t make it to the big screen due to production delays.

After years of eager anticipation, it appears the wait is finally coming to an end for us dedicated followers. Earlier this January, GVM announced that many of the film’s financial hurdles had been overcome, with plans to release the movie within a few months. Now, in the most recent news, Harris Jayaraj – the composer behind Dhruva Natchathiram’s music – has confirmed that we can expect the film to premiere on the silver screen in April of this year.

The renowned music composer announced some exciting news at a press conference in Coimbatore on Friday (February 28th). He stated, “I believe I can disclose some positive updates today. Finally, the release of Dhruva Natchathiram is imminent next month.

He emphasized again that the movie is among Gautham Vasudev Menon’s finest creations, promising an exciting experience for viewers. Harris Jayaraj also commented, “We’ve been waiting this long. Let’s hold on just a bit longer.

After the announcement, Harris Jayaraj encountered a string of questions, to which he responded confidently. In response to a question about whether the film’s prolonged delay in release could affect public interest, the music composer highlighted that even a film like Vaaranam Aayiram, which was released 16 years ago, is being re-released and receiving positive reactions from the public once more.

He highlighted that if a movie that was previously screened gained approval from the audience, it’s not hard to fathom the kind of reception Dhruva Natchathiram – a film produced five years ago and yet to be released – might garner.

Harris Jayaraj referenced the Telugu film Orange, which has been re-released four times since 2010, as an example. He emphasized that powerful songs can entice people to go to the cinema, and with this in mind, he is optimistic about the movie featuring Chiyaan Vikram.

It’s clear that Dhruva Natchathiram is generating a lot of buzz as one of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s highly anticipated films. In truth, it could be described as the director’s long-cherished vision. The film boasts an impressive lineup of actors including Chiyaan Vikram, Ritu Varma, Simran, R. Parthiban, Vinayakan, Radhika Sarathkumar, Maya S. Krishnan, Dhivyadharshini, and several others.

After the premiere of his 2024 movie titled Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha, GVM disclosed that this film is set within the same narrative continuity as Dhruva Natchathiram. Furthermore, he mentioned that actress Dhivyadharshini would be re-emerging in both films to play her character once more.

The film revolves around a covert operations team called The Basement, led by John, whose primary objective is to bring down terrorist organizations without being bound by law and order. Manoj Paramahamsa, SR Kathir, and Vishnu Dev handled the cinematography for the project, while Anthony took care of the film’s editing.
