At the premiere gathering for the upcoming film Kuberaa, actor Dhanush openly praised director Sekhar Kammula. He shared deep emotions about his father and even expressed a desire to helm a Telugu movie for Pawan Kalyan. This outpouring of feelings was particularly intense at the Kuberaa pre-release event, where SS Rajamouli served as the chief guest.

Everything I’ve accomplished today is a testament to my father’s relentless effort, his borrowed pennies, his sacrifices, and the blood, sweat, and tears he poured in for us to succeed. His hard work laid the foundation for my achievements.
Dhanush about his second film in Telugu
This represents my 51st film in Tamil and the second one in Telugu under the banner of Kuberaa. Sekhar Kammula sir shared this story with me prior to its inception. Amidst an industry that’s preoccupied with numbers, he stands out as a man who pursues not just grandeur but also meaningful narratives, stories rich in soul rather than scale.
One movie he would want to direct?
At the Kuberaa function, Dhanush expressed his desire to helm a film for Pawan Kalyan in the Telugu language.
Dhanush explains, “Earning 150 rupees means you’ll face issues needing 200 rupees. If you make one crore, you’ll encounter problems requiring twice as much, that is, two crores.

Filmed in Hyderabad and Mumbai, production for Kuberaa was completed in April. Devi Sri Prasad is responsible for its music composition, while Niketh Bommireddy handles the cinematography. Karthika Srinivas takes care of the editing, and Thota Tharani designs the production. Kuberaa is slated to hit theaters globally on June 20, 2025.
