As a die-hard fan of both Nayanthara and Dhanush, I find myself torn between the two titans of Tamil cinema in this latest controversy. On one hand, I admire Nayanthara’s courage for standing up against what she believes is an unjust accusation. Her journey from a struggling actress to becoming one of the most successful female leads in Kollywood is nothing short of inspiring.
In a move that’s stirred up debate, Nayanthara’s recent public letter criticized Dhanush for suing her over a Rs 10 crore claim related to her Netflix documentary. The dispute revolves around a brief behind-the-scenes snippet from the film ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, which is featured in the trailer of Nayanthara’s upcoming movie. Now, Dhanush’s legal representative has spoken out about this issue, and his comments are rapidly gaining traction on social media.
The statement from Dhanush’s lawyer states, “My client, as the film producer, keeps track of every penny spent during film production. They claim that no one was hired by my client to shoot behind-the-scenes footage. Your client’s assertion is unfounded, and they must provide solid evidence to support it.
In simpler terms, Dhanush’s legal representative explained that his client was confused by the other side’s argument because it suggested that the person who captured the BTS video owned it. Additionally, he argued that the video was actually owned by Dhanush, since he produced the movie.
Dhanush’s attorney asked the other side to take off content on the movie “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” that violates his client’s copyright. He warned that if they don’t delete it, his client would have no choice but to file a lawsuit. This lawsuit will demand 100 crore rupees in damages from both the opposing party and Netflix India.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m urging you to promptly remove any copyright-infringing content related to the film “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” from your documentary titled “Nayanthara Beyond the Fairytale.” Failure to do so within 24 hours may result in my client initiating a series of legal actions, including seeking damages amounting to approximately Rs. 10 crores. If this situation is not addressed promptly, Netflix India and you may find yourselves facing potential legal consequences.

For those not aware, the actress Nayanthara recently challenged Dhanush’s claim of copyright infringement concerning content in Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale. In a public letter, she revealed that her team has been trying to secure permission (No Objection Certificate or NOC) to utilize material from her movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
