As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for celebrity dynamics, I must say that the divorce of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth serves as yet another chapter in the intricate tapestry of Tamil cinema’s most influential families. Having closely observed their journey over the years, it is evident that both parties have made significant contributions to the industry and left an indelible mark on countless fans.
Dhanush and director Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s marriage has been legally dissolved by the Chennai family court, signifying the conclusion of their union. As per a report from NDTV, the court determined that both parties have communicated their inability to sustain their relationship.
Previously, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa made a court appearance where they officially ended their marriage, which was finalized on November 27, 2024. They had initially announced their separation in early 2022 via an official statement.
The declaration revealed by the two of them stated, “We’ve walked together for 18 years, as friends, partners, parents, and supporters. Our path has been one of growth, learning, accommodating, and evolving. Now, we find ourselves at a point where our roads diverge.
Aishwaryaa (Dhanush) and I have chosen to go our separate ways as a couple, allowing us both time to focus on ourselves individually. We kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our need for personal space during this period.

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa tied the knot on November 18, 2004, and they have been a couple ever since. They are proud parents of two lovely kids, Yatra and Linga, who were born in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
After his recent dispute with actress Nayanthara, Dhanush has been creating quite a buzz. More recently, he’s taken legal action by filing a civil suit against Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Shivan, due to their usage of footage from the movie “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” in the docu-drama titled “Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.
In simpler terms, footage from behind the scenes of a movie starring Vijay Sethupathi was used without first obtaining necessary permissions from Dhanush, who produced the film under his own banner. This action prompted Dhanush to issue a legal warning and request for a compensation of 10 crores INR to be paid. However, things escalated when Nayanthara wrote an open letter criticizing the actor publicly.
Following the documentary’s premiere, the actor filed a lawsuit against the actress and her spouse due to claims that their footage was utilized inappropriately. The Madras High Court is currently waiting for their reply before the upcoming court session.
