As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating the prequel series of Dexter, focusing on the origins of the Trinity Killer from the initial show. The creators themselves have recently shared some encouraging news about its progress.
What is the latest Dexter Trinity Killer series update?
In conversation with Deadline, Clyde Phillips, one of the original creators of Dexter and its showrunner, along with Scott Reynolds, another co-creator, shared that they’ve been developing a project centered around the Trinity Killer. However, they mentioned that it isn’t ready for release at this time.
However, he did have one exciting update regarding Lithgow’s involvement in the project.
Phillips stated, “We have penned the entire Trinity Killer series, but for now, we’ve set it aside. Here are some updates: John Lithgow has consented to voice his younger self, similar to how Michael Hall is narrating [Original Sin]. Additionally, we’re working on another project with Michael C. Hall, titled [Resurrection]. We were simultaneously writing this while filming Original Sin, so it keeps us quite occupied. Filming for Resurrection begins in January 2024 and it will be broadcasted in June 2025.
Last year’s announcement for the Trinity Killer series was about its central focus on the Trinity Killer character, portrayed by John Lithgow in the initial Dexter series. In the original show, this character was known as Arthur Mitchell, one of the main adversaries who made an appearance during the fourth season.
In my excitement, I must admit that when the series was first mentioned, it was still in the early stages of development, leaving much about it shrouded in mystery. As for the Dexter franchise, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Dexter: Resurrection, a continuation following the events of the 2021 miniseries Dexter: Original Sin. However, details about its plot remain scarce at this point.
