In a new series titled “Dexter: New Blood,” we find Dexter Morgan (Hall) recovering from being shot by his son, weeks later and with no trace of Harrison. Overwhelmed by the guilt of his actions, he embarks on a journey to New York City in search of his son, hoping to make amends. However, finding closure proves difficult. The arrival of Miami Metro’s Angel Batista with questions only serves to remind Dexter that his past is closing in fast. As they both grapple with their own demons in the city that never sleeps, father and son find themselves in deeper trouble than ever before. It seems that the only way out for them is together.
The revival of Dexter: Resurrection is set to launch on Paramount+ with Showtime starting July 11, 2025. This crime drama has Clyde Phillips serving as showrunner, while Marcos Siega takes the helm as director and producer. Original cast members such as David Zayas (Detective Angel Batista), James Remar (Dexter’s father Harry Morgan), Jack Alcott (Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan), John Lithgow (Arthur Mitchell/Trinity Killer), and Jimmy Smits (Miguel Prado) will rejoin the series.
Beyond taking the lead role, Hall is additionally functioning as an executive producer, joined by Scott Reynolds (from Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (of Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (known for Russian Doll). This project is a joint effort of Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.
The original show aired for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013, starring not only Thomas Jane but also Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow. In its initial run, it garnered numerous Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, as well as a Peabody Award. Hall was honored with a Golden Globe in 2010 for his outstanding performance as the lead actor.
