Dexter: Resurrection Teaser Trailer Sets Release Date Set for Michael C. Hall Show

At long last, Showtime has disclosed the Dexter: Resurrection launch date for its upcoming sequel to the critically-acclaimed crime drama series. Moreover, the initial teaser trailer has been revealed, allowing fans a sneak peek at Michael C. Hall once more assuming the role of the main character, the notorious serial killer known as Dexter.

The new series, titled ‘Dexter: New Blood’, picks up weeks after Dexter Morgan (Hall) has been shot by his son and wakes from a coma to discover that Harrison has vanished without a trace. Determined to set things right, Dexter embarks on a journey to New York City to find his son. However, finding closure won’t be simple. When former colleague Angel Batista from Miami Metro turns up with questions, Dexter realizes that his past is quickly catching up to him. As they both grapple with their inner demons in the bustling city, father and son find themselves in a predicament far worse than they ever anticipated—and the only way out might be together.

When is the Dexter: Resurrection release date?

The crime drama sequel “Dexter: Resurrection” is set to begin streaming on July 11, 2025, only on Paramount+ with Showtime. Joining Michael Hall in the cast are Uma Thurman as Charley, Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, Krysten Ritter as Mia Lapierre, Neil Patrick Harris as Lowell, Eric Stonestreet as Al, David Dastmalchian as Gareth, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.

The crime series is helmed by showrunner Clyde Phillips, who also directs and produces alongside Marcos Siega. Notable actors reprising their roles include David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer, and Jimmy Smits as Miguel Prado. Michael Hall leads the cast while also serving as an executive producer, joined by Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll). This series is a joint production of Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.

The initial series aired from 2006-2013 over eight seasons, featuring stars like David Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, and John Lithgow. During this time, it garnered numerous nominations for Golden Globes, Emmys, and even won a Peabody Award. Notably, David Hall was awarded a Golden Globe in 2010 for his exceptional leading role.
