The next chapter in Destiny 2: Heresy Act 2 is about to start! Although Bungie has teased some exciting features like 12 new weapons and an amazing mode for Act 3, fans shouldn’t overlook the excitement for Act 2. Before the upcoming release, here are some highlights of what’s coming in the upcoming Destiny 2 update: a unique new weapon, different modes, significant adjustments, and much more!
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Act 2 new modes
The second act of Destiny 2’s Episode Heresy update is set for March 11th. One of the most thrilling features that’s been hinted at is the boss rush mode, titled Court of Blades. According to Bungie’s latest blog post on Twitter, “Players will encounter waves of enemies with increasing difficulty in arena battles, striving to claim the title of the Taken King. Runes can be used to enhance gameplay and overcome obstacles.
As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the much-anticipated Guardian Games will make its grand comeback alongside the debut of Heresy Act 2. This exciting development introduces an innovative game mode dubbed Rushdown. Essentially, it’s a series of boss battles modeled after a ‘boss rush’, drawing from Destiny 2’s main campaigns, seasonal story missions, and Exotic quests. Can’t wait to dive in!
In the game Rushdown, a total of five bosses are encountered, with each one becoming progressively harder. A time limit is imposed, and completing tasks swiftly can potentially yield additional drops or better quality loot. Your rewards are contingent on your performance, taking into account factors like the time you finish and the number of revive tokens you employ. Additionally, there’s a Warm-up mode, as well as Standard and Expert modes for varying levels of challenge.
Exclusive new Destiny 2 weapon
In the year 2025, a unique Destiny 2 weapon, named Keraunios, will be available exclusively for the Guardian Games. This new Arc Trace Rifle boasts powerful combinations such as Jolting Feedback, Recycled Energy, and Rolling Storm, making it an excellent fit for our upcoming arc-focused episode.
Apart from this weapon, you’ll find stunning new armors for each class – Titan, Warlock, and Hunter. These armor sets are quite captivating, and you can purchase them from the Eververse store using Silver or Bright Dust.
Moving beyond the Guardian Games, Act 2 of Heresy will introduce the last five weapons from the Heretical Collection. Bungie is introducing weapons featuring unique traits like “Sword Logic on a Strand Glaive,” and there will be enhanced versions (Adept) for each of these five weapons.
Nerfs for next D2 update
On February 27th, it was revealed on the Destiny2Team X account that some adjustments (balancing changes) will be made to Heresy Act 2 in Destiny 2, as announced by Bungie.
At present, we’re working on a solution for those players who didn’t get the Redrix’s Estoc Competitive Pulse Rifle following their Placement Series completion.
As an enthusiast, I recognize that the weapon overheated during the Crucible’s battlefield, and here’s what I anticipate will be tweaked for Act II to ensure a smoother gameplay experience:
1. Cool Down Mechanism Improvement: The heat management system is being refined to provide a more balanced and enjoyable game experience.
2. Damage Output Adjustment: The power output of the weapon is being fine-tuned to create a fairer and more competitive environment for all players.
3. Recoil Reduction: A reduction in recoil has been planned, allowing for better target acquisition and precision aiming.
4. Reload Speed Optimization: The reload speed will be adjusted to minimize downtime between rounds, enhancing the flow of combat.
5. Additional Features: New features are being added to make the weapon even more versatile and fun to use! Stay tuned for more updates as Act II unfolds.
- Tuning Sword Logic Damage against players in PvP.
- We will be adding this perk to more weapons in the future and need it to be in line with our other damage perk options in the PvP sandbox. This will not affect PvE efficacy.
- Reducing the handling stat on Redrix’s Estoc.
- Walking back some of the buff that Lightweight Pulse Rifles received in Destiny 2 Update 8153.
- Note: These will still perform better than pre-buff. Just reducing the damage buff slightly to lower some of the forgiveness.
The above incoming nerfs have divided fans online, but it’s what’s planned for Act 2 as of writing.
New fix
To wrap up, Bungie has acknowledged an issue where the ‘Time Honored’ emblem, which comes with any purchase of Moments of Triumph items on their store, is displaying placeholder artwork temporarily. They plan to rectify this problem in update 8.2.5, scheduled for March 11th on the Destiny2Team X account.
Players are acquiring unreleased Destiny 2 weapons that they aren’t supposed to have at this time, with leaks suggesting a significant 80% damage boost perk and a pre-order bonus for the presumed Apollo weapon.
