At present, Destiny 2 is midway through Episode Heresy’s first act. So far, leaks suggest a fresh game mode reminiscent of D1 for Act 2, while Bungie has opted not to address a highly-regarded bug within the Destiny 2 community due to its popularity. We have a couple more weeks left in Heresy Act 1, and Bungie is soon set to release the patch notes for update 8.2.0.2, which will bring back Grandmaster Nightfalls.
Early Destiny 2 update 8.2.0.2 patch notes
On February 25th at approximately 9AM Pacific Time (12PM Eastern Time / 5PM Greenwich Mean Time), the details for Destiny 2’s update 8.2.0.2 will be unveiled by Bungie, with Grandmaster Nightfall’s return being the only confirmed feature so far.
On February 20th’s TWITTER blog post by Bungie, they unveiled some exciting news for us fans! Starting from next Tuesday, we can embark on our quest to earn the prestigious Conqueror title in the newly introduced Grandmaster Nightfalls. This will also mark the initial chance for players like me to obtain The Palindrome, either its standard version through regular Nightfalls or its powerful Adept variant if I dare to take up the Grandmaster challenge!

Bungie has additionally verified that the highlighted Nightfall will be ‘Hypernet Current’, which comes with a ‘Haste’ modifier. To clarify, they haven’t implemented a Grandmaster node just yet, but it will arrive in a couple of weeks.
D2 update 8.2.0.2 maintenance
The maintenance schedule for Destiny 2 update 8.2.0.2 on February 25th is as follows:
- Background maintenance starts at 6:30AM PT/9:30AM ET/2:30PM GMT
- Downtime starts at 7:45AM PT/10:45AM ET/3:45PM GMT
- Downtime ends at 9AM PT/12PM ET/5PM GMT
- Background maintenance ends at 11AM PT/2PM ET/7PM GMT
After the maintenance period ends, you should find it possible to download the update and resume your gameplay in D2. However, you might encounter some difficulties logging in during this transition phase until all background tasks are completed. Please note that there could be delays, so stay tuned to BungieHelp for updates.
