Destiny 2 Shocks Players with Major Nerf and Surprising Weapon Changes!

So far, Destiny 2‘s Episode Heresy has been a blast, and it looks like the fun is set to continue with Act 2 in a month. Various leaks about Act 2 have surfaced online, revealing potential new cutscenes, hinting at a boss rush mode, and suggesting the return of a beloved weapon from Destiny 1. However, before any of these leaked features become reality, Bungie has announced immediate adjustments for Destiny 2, such as toning down overpowered Exotic weapons and offering special bonuses to PvP weapons that were previously excluded.

Destiny 2 OP Exotic nerf and “excluded” weapon bonuses

On the Destiny 2 Team’s account, Bungie has acknowledged feedback from players about the overpowered combination of the Exotic hunter boots, Radiant Death Machines, and The Last Word hand cannon. Here are the adjustments and improvements planned for release on February 13th:

– Reduction in the damage output of Radiant Death Machines when paired with The Last Word.
– Adjustments to the reload speed of The Last Word to provide a more balanced gameplay experience.

  • Dead Man’s Tale and The Last Word have been temporarily excluded from the hip fire range and accuracy bonus. We will revisit these weapons in a future patch to custom tune their bonuses so they can interact without being overly strong.
  • The dodge refund amount has been reduced to 33% if you do not have a full dodge charge. It will still give an extra charge if it’s full when you get the kill. Extra charges are not retained on death or after use.

Following the update, Bungie will keep tracking performance and user feedback, and they’ll implement further changes if necessary.

Unfortunately, Bungie hasn’t elaborated on what will change with any of the above unlike with RDM.
