Destiny 2 enthusiasts have much to look forward to as Bungie has unveiled 12 new weapons and an exciting new mode for Heresy Act 3, with rumors suggesting that Marathon will be revealed shortly, offering pre-order bonus DLC for Destiny 2. While fans eagerly await the releases of Heresy Act 2 and then Act 3, some players of Destiny 2 are concerned that a recent stealth enhancement could be deliberate rather than a glitch.
Destiny 2 fans fear stealth Taken Phalanx buff is intentional
In our latest update, we shared information on a bothersome hidden advantage found within Destiny 2, referred to as the Taken Phalanx stealth buff. According to numerous players, this enhancement has made them appear more formidable because they now carry shields in front of them instead of to their side. This new positioning completely hides their head and covers a significant portion of their body.
After this revelation, another Reddit user who plays Destiny 2 has posted that “The updated Taken Phalanx shield behavior also influences the initial boss in Prophecy”. According to the original poster (OP), XxXc00l_dud3XxX, “Taken Phalanxes now guard their shields similar to how Cabal Phalanxes do, making it extremely challenging to defeat them [and] The first boss of Prophecy has a similar behavior, resulting in difficult DPS phases for solo players because you can primarily only target his foot”.

As a gamer, I’m right there with the OP on this one. One of the most upvoted comments expresses my own feelings: “I can only hope that this issue is just a bug that will be squashed and not an intentional change in enemy behavior. It’s incredibly frustrating against every Taken Phalanx, and from what I’ve experienced so far, it seems to affect every single one in the game, whether they’re bosses or not.
Players are concerned that the stealth enhancement in Prophecy, which is linked to Rite of the Nine, might not be a glitch but rather an intentional secret upgrade. One comment suggests, “Given that Prophecy forms part of Rite of the Nine, I’d wager it’s not a bug; it’s a hidden buff.
As a fellow enthusiast, let me share some intriguing insights: “I recall when Pantheon was yet to launch, there was an unusual glitch in the KingsFall raid at the Ogre boss. Two players were mysteriously receiving the exploding buff. It’s interesting to note that two weeks before Pantheon’s release, it was intentionally designed, as I later found out.
It seems Bungie hasn’t acknowledged the issue regarding the Taken Phalanx change on their usual platforms such as BungieHelp and Destiny2Team socials, which is unusual for them when it comes to fixing bugs. Fingers crossed that this is indeed a bug that will be rectified in an upcoming update, but for now, there’s been no official communication about the matter from Bungie.
Players are finding themselves with unrevealed Destiny 2 weapons that normally shouldn’t be accessible, and leaks hint at a potential 80% damage increase perk and pre-order incentive for what seems to be the Apollo weapon.
