In less than a week, Destiny 2: Episode Heresy is almost upon us! So far, Bungie has revealed an array of thrilling content for players to look forward to, such as a groundbreaking collaboration with the legendary sci-fi universe – Star Wars. However, amidst all the excitement surrounding the Star Wars crossover, it’s essential not to forget that Bungie has also announced some unique, first-of-their-kind weapons and an outstanding Tome specifically for Destiny 2: Episode Heresy!
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy “first ever” new weapons
In the latest blog update on TWID, Bungie unveiled the “initial” or “first-time” new weapon additions for Destiny 2’s Episode Heresy.
In the Episode Heresy, we’ll encounter Adapted variants of Episodic firearms. These modified versions feature an unusual color palette, accommodate Adept modifications, come equipped with a second Origin Attribute, and may even include bonus traits in the third and fourth attribute columns.
During a recent livestream called Episode Heresy, Bungie revealed Destiny 2’s first-ever support Strand Auto Rifle. This weapon is unique because it comes with the Adamantite perk, which not only heals teammates but also produces projectiles that trail after enemies and deal damage to them.
Alongside the introduction of Strand Auto Rifle, Episode Heresy will also debut a unique feature – an Area Denial Arc Grenade Launcher. Moreover, Bungie has announced that Psychopomp can now utilize a new Arc ability called Rolling Storm, which grants Bolt Charge upon landing final blows.
Additionally, Episode Heresy will also introduce several new features. The Season of Arrivals weapon set will return, featuring updated perk options and the ability to upgrade it. Similarly, the Vault of Glass weapon pool will be reintroduced with new perks, and once you unlock their patterns, you’ll be able to craft them yourself.
Beyond the freshly unveiled TWIT (The Week In Development), Bungie has also hinted at the introduction of some novel weapons and the comeback of a cherished classic. Additionally, expect significant power-ups and fresh benefits to roll in soon.
New Tome
Bungie has revealed a new addition to Destiny 2, named the “Episode Heresy Tome” by fans on Reddit, which they’ve nicknamed a “massive W.” If it functions as promised, this is called the “Tome of Want.” Here’s how it’s supposed to work:
- On day one, you’ll unlock the “Tome of Want”, giving you options to focus on earning specific weapons, armor, or currencies in addition to general loot drops you’ll earn during gameplay.
- As you complete Heresy activities, you’ll earn Essence of Desire to power up your Tome’s rituals, and Scriptures, which will specify the desired rewards.
- To keep you better informed of ritual progress, the Tome’s tooltip will display a progress bar, indicating when you’ll earn your next specified reward. This lives entirely within your inventory.
- Progress is gained by defeating powerful enemies and completing activities. You’ll get more progress from Heresy activities, of course, but minor gains can be earned from various activities throughout the game.
- As we get deeper into Heresy, you’ll be able to upgrade your Tome to be more efficient, increasing the number of rewards that can be earned through a single ritual.
- Additionally, Tome Engravings will be unlocked over time and augment a number of Artifact Perks with additional effects. These effects will activate any time a ritual is active, within the Tome.
