In a recent interview, when asked about a potential sequel for Den of Thieves, Gudegast indicated that they have already presented their idea to Lionsgate. Currently, specifics about his proposal remain confidential, but it appears the project is moving forward positively.
Gudegast stated through The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s been presented and completed. We’re all set to move forward.” He added, “We’re feeling quite optimistic about it.
2nd Installment of Den of Thieves, titled Panthera, was penned and helmed by Christian Gudegast. It’s said that he immersed himself in the company of investigators and notorious robbers to prepare for this sequel. The ensemble includes O’Shea Jackson Jr., Evin Ahmad, Meadow Williams, Salvatore Esposito, Swen Temmel, Michael Bisping, Orli Shuka, Cristian Solimeno, among others. This project was unveiled in 2018 after the initial film’s box office success, which garnered a global gross of $80 million. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, along with returning producers Tucker Tooley and Alan Siegel, produced this sequel. Meadow Williams from Diamond Films is also executive producing, alongside Glenn Feig.
