Den of Thieves 3 in Development, Returning Cast & Director Announced

Den of Thieves 3 is a go at Lionsgate.

The original film “Den of Thieves” came out in the year 2018. Five years later, in 2025, its sequel, titled “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” was released. Both movies were directed by Christian Gudegast. In these films, Gerard Butler plays the role of Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien and O’Shea Jackson Jr. portrays Donnie Wilson.

As a diehard fan who’s been eagerly awaiting news, I can’t contain my excitement as I share the latest update: After the massive success of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera at the box office, Lionsgate, Tucker Tooley Entertainment, and G-BASE have officially kicked off the production of Den of Thieves 3!

Who is returning for Den of Thieves 3?

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excitedly looking forward to stepping back into the world of Den of Thieves for a third round! Just like before, I, Big Nick, am anticipated to reprise my role, and I’ll also be producing this action-packed sequel through my very own G-Base banner. The talented O’Shea Jackson Jr. will once again join me on the screen, and we’re hoping that Gudegest gets the green light from Lionsgate to pen and produce this movie – can’t wait to see what he brings to the table!

Tucker Tooley Entertainment is teaming up with Den of Thieves 3’s production, also contributing financially. As of now, the movie’s premiere date remains undetermined.

Back in 2025, I was thrilled to catch Den of Thieves 2: Panthera in theaters on January 10! This action-packed sequel has raked in an impressive $47.5 million at global box offices so far, making it a must-see for fans like myself.

In an interview with ComingSoon about Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, Gudegast explained, “We had a detailed outline for the story right from the start. While researching for Den 1, we discovered so much additional material that it wouldn’t all fit into one movie. It feels like we have enough content for multiple seasons of a TV show. So, we decided to stretch it across several films. In essence, we aimed to create a franchise from the beginning by featuring intricate, captivating heists taking place worldwide.

In a nutshell, the sequel to “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” can be watched digitally right now. However, if you’d prefer the 4K UHD or standard Blu-ray (which comes with DVD and digital copies), you’ll have to wait until March 4, 2025. Meanwhile, you can catch the original movie on Max, TNT, TBS, and TruTV streaming platforms.
