Demon Slayer Game Trailer Announces New Sequel

As a seasoned gamer and ardent fan of Demon Slayer, I must say, my heart skipped a beat upon hearing the news of Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2! With over a decade of gaming experience under my belt, I’ve played my fair share of arena fighters, but none have captivated me quite like the original Hinokami Chronicles.

Sega, along with CyberConnect2, has unveiled Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – the follow-up to last year’s arena fighter. A fresh trailer for the game offers an exciting peek into its upcoming features for anime enthusiasts.

Demon Slayer : The Hinokami Chronicles 2 releasing in 2025

In 2025, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is set to be released in North America and Europe. At this time, a specific launch date remains unknown. The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch.

In my gaming journey, I find myself picking up where I left off in Hinokami Chronicles, diving straight into the Mugen Train saga as the sequel’s narrative unfolds. It’s like a continuation of my adventures, with me revisiting pivotal moments from the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training arcs all over again.

In the battle mode of Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2, you’ll find more than 40 playable characters! These include every character from the initial game, along with its DLC fighters added after launch. Moreover, the nine Hashira will also be part of the roster in this sequel.

According to Sega’s announcement, “The Hinokami Chronicles 2,” developed by CyberConnect2, is an exhilarating arena-fighting game that expands upon the success of the original “Hinokami Chronicles.” To date, the total physical and digital sales of this game have surpassed 4 million units globally.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba originated as a manga comic, penned and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. This captivating story was published weekly in Shonen Jump from February 2016 until May 2020. It ranks among the top-selling manga series ever, with over 150 million copies currently in circulation worldwide.

The manga has been transformed into an anime television series by Ufotable. It initially premiered in 2019 and recently completed its fourth season, known as the Hashira Training Arc, this year. The Infinity Castle arc is set to be divided into three films, wrapping up the Demon Slayer narrative. As of now, release dates for these movies are still undisclosed. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that the initial film will have a worldwide cinema release in 2025.
