As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel excited about the future of Delta Force. Team Jade’s commitment to their players and the game is commendable, especially in this era where many developers abandon their projects post-launch. The promise of at least eight new maps in the first year alone is a testament to their dedication.
Team Jade, the developers behind Delta Force, are busy creating a significant amount of fresh content for their recently launched free-to-play first-person shooter game that’s team-based. Debuted in November on PC and receiving mixed reviews initially, Delta Force has managed to build a dedicated fanbase with over 90,000 players actively engaged in combat via Steam.
Following its promising debut, Team Jade clarifies they have no intention of growing complacent. In an exclusive chat with VideoGamer, game director Ricky Liao shared before launch that they view Delta Force as a long-term dedication to the players, promising numerous maps, game modes, and weapon additions in the future.
Delta Force will see 8 new maps in its first year
At Team Jade’s Delta Force, Liao outlined an extensive expansion strategy. As the studio simultaneously develops versions for Xbox, PlayStation, and mobile platforms, they’re also working on a revamped single-player campaign based on Black Hawk Down. Moreover, at least eight fresh maps are slated to be added to the game’s multiplayer arena.
Liao shared that we’re committed to consistently delivering engaging new content to our players, as evidenced by our past roadmaps. In the upcoming year alone, we aim to introduce at least eight fresh maps, splitting them equally between the two game modes, which means four maps for each mode.
Our team is dedicated to actively engaging and hearing out our players, taking their suggestions seriously, and integrating them into our game development process.” In other words, we value your input as part of the Delta Force community, and are committed to creating the game alongside you.
The team underscores their firm stance against cheaters, having referred to cheating as a destructive “cancer” in first-person shooter (FPS) games before. In regards to Delta Force being a free-to-play title with long-term aspirations, Liao emphasized the importance of combatting cheaters for the integrity of our game.
According to the plan unveiled by Team Jade, developers have pledged regular updates, with a significant overhaul or ‘major update’ anticipated every quarter. These updates will encompass enhancements for user experience, along with the introduction of fresh features like new characters (operators) and vehicles.
Additionally, you’ll find the eagerly awaited campaign titled “Black Hawk Down,” reminiscent of the classic Delta Force games from the past. In this update, scheduled for release in January 2025, you’ll get a chance to reenact the events of The Battle of Mogadishu.
