If, after a long and stressful day at work, you yearn for a game that won’t add to your tension, then perhaps Death Stranding 2 is just what you need. Interestingly, it appears that the forthcoming creation by Hideo Kojima will provide an opportunity to bypass challenging boss fights.
What’s the mechanism behind this? In the most recent broadcast of the Koji Pro radio show (through Genki_JPN), the Japanese developer shared that during a conflict with an adversary, a screen option to bypass the fight will appear. Instead of participating in a challenging skirmish, the player will be presented with a slideshow and a narrative account of the battle’s events – essentially like a visual novel.
Instead of finding it fascinating that they’ve paid tribute to the players, what leaves a lasting impression is the intricate puzzle from Metal Gear Solid 1, specifically the epic confrontation against Psycho Mantis, where gamers had to devise unorthodox strategies. Although Hideo Kojima didn’t make this statement, it’s likely that this feature will only be accessible on the most straightforward difficulty setting. Players who thrive on a challenge can still showcase their skills, albeit not at the level of intensity found in Elden Ring or Dark Souls games.
Death Stranding 2 is 95 percent complete… or maybe 92
In the same discussion, Kojima disclosed that Death Stranding 2 is essentially complete, with just 5 more percent needed to finish it off. He likened the release of DS2 to being at 10 o’clock at night on a clock, suggesting that there are only two hours left before its official launch, according to Japanese cultural time references.
If we’re being precise, about 8% of a day is equivalent to 2 hours, implying that the game is nearly 92% complete, not 95%. Yet, it’s expected that Kojima can polish it further for the release, scheduled on June 26th. The sequel, titled “Death Stranding 2: On The Beach“, is set to launch on both PS5 and PS5 Pro.
