It’s worth noting that this is a significant increase compared to the original game which garnered an 82, as well as the Director’s Cut which received an 85.
In Metacritic’s rankings for the year 2025, DS2 finds itself among the top ten games, boasting an impressive score of 89, placing it alongside Despelote and The Talos Principle Reawakened. As of now, it holds the eighth spot, with Split Fiction, Blue Prince, and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 leading the pack with scores of 91, 92, and 93 respectively.
